The unauthorised tenants of the projected Abuja Technology Village site, located along Airport Road, have been requested to leave by Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

On Monday, during his visit to the area in Abuja, Wike issued the mandate.

Mr. Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, was with the former governor of Rivers State.

The minister added that since 2015, the local indigenous population has received compensation, and he will order the Department of Development Control to give the illegal squatters a notice to vacate.

“What I am witnessing does not impress me.” It’s not like we lack political will. People won’t think anything is feasible if you don’t accomplish anything.

“I’m going to give the Development Control Department a call and tell them that these people need to get out.” Since 2015, they have received compensation.

I want everyone who has settled here illegally to know that we will not think twice about evicting them. We won’t let a campaign stop us from acting morally,” he declared.

Wike gave the Abuja Technology Village administration some advice, telling them to take control of the land, erect a fence, and make some sort of presence known.

He clarified that he asked Nnaji to come with him to the location so he could seize control and choose how to attract investors.

Wike requested an estimate from the Technology Village administration regarding the necessary construction of a suitable office on the property.
