Mr. Peter Obi, who ran for president on the ticket of the Labour Party, LP, in the election held on February 25, issued a call to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, urging him to prioritize providing excellent governance to the people of the state, particularly those who are less fortunate.

According to Obi, the less privileged people in Nigeria have endured enough suffering and are currently being put through a great deal of unimaginable agony.

This information was made public by the former governor of Anambra State on Monday, when he shared a statement on his Twitter profile following a thanksgiving service that was organized in Otti’s honor on Sunday.

According to Obi, he strongly pushed Otti to place a priority on policies and initiatives that would help lift people out of poverty, especially in the areas of health and education.

He said, “Earlier today, I was in Abia State for the Thanksgiving Service of my dear friend and brother, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. @alexottiofr.” He was referring to the governor of Abia State. I took advantage of the occasion to make an appeal to Governor Otti to prioritize providing the people of Abia State, particularly those who are less fortunate, with decent administration.

“The less privileged people in Nigeria have been subjected to a great deal of unimaginable suffering, and they have endured enough already. A high level of priority should be given to programs and policies that aim to lift people out of poverty through education and health care initiatives.

“In the next four years, it is my earnest desire that those who are less fortunate would be as joyful as they are right now, rejoicing for the new dawn in the State and looking forward with anticipation to a better tomorrow.

“May God grant him the wisdom, strength, and understanding to lead the State to greater heights in all aspects,” the prayer said. God bless the fine people of Abia State and all of Nigeria as we work together to construct the new Nigeria.
