Olukoyede’s mandate to have all EFCC employees file asset disclosure formsStaff of the Economic and Financial Crimes

Commission (EFCC) have been ordered by Executive Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede to make an urgent declaration of their assets in accordance with civil service laws and procedures.

According to a statement released by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the chairman issued the order on Tuesday at the EFCC’s corporate offices in Abuja.

Because battling corruption requires those in the forefront to be above board, he said all employees below Level 17 must report their assets, which would be investigated.

He declared, “From Level 17 on down, everyone is disclosing their holdings. I did mine, and no one else should be reluctant to follow suit. Indeed, so did the Commission Secretary. It’s possible that you’ve done this before, too, but we need everyone’s help once again. We’re going to come clean about our finances and look into it.

We need to set a good example by always doing the right thing. We must keep our identities and finances transparent as anti-corruption activists.

He warned the commission personnel that they would be severely punished if they compromised their job or position by being anything less than professional, comprehensive, rich in integrity, and non-partisan.

Olukoyede emphasized the importance of following the law while giving instructions to his workers, saying, “EFCC is a creation of the law.” We have a responsibility to carry out our duties in accordance with the law. Since this is the accepted norm elsewhere, we will make it the standard here as well.
