Peter Obi-Ohanaeze urges Tinubu to make peace with Atiku in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling

Cultural group Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on President Bola Tinubu to mend fences with rival presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).

Ohanaeze predicted that after the Supreme Court’s ruling, Tinubu will foster a cooperative atmosphere by offering his hand in friendship to Atiku and Obi.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the general secretary of the president’s faction, insisted that he show sportsmanlike behavior.

Isiguzoro said in a statement that President Tinubu, in the spirit of true sportsmanship, should offer hands of friendship and reconciliation to his opponents, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. President Tinubu can pave the way for the people of Nigeria to work together for the betterment of their country if he promotes harmony and openness.

NADECO, the National Democratic Coalition, was also warned by the group not to humiliate the president.

Further, Ohanaeze Ndigbo urges the overseas branch of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) to abandon its preparations to support ongoing opposition to President Tinubu.

“It is time for all Nigerians, regardless of party, to come together and support the elected government. To succeed in the future and make Nigeria stronger and more successful, cooperation and unity are crucial.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo is still committed to working for the betterment of the Igbo people and all Nigerians as a whole. The Supreme Court’s decision putting an end to the Presidential elections of 2023 is widely acknowledged and applauded.

“Let us now focus on fostering peace, unity, and progress as we collectively work towards a brighter future under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the message continued.
