The notice of the Surulere by-election in Lagos has been published by INEC

As mandated by law, the notice of the Surulere Federal Constituency I bye-election has been published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC) in Lagos State.

According to Mrs. Adenike Oriowo, the INEC Public Affairs Officer for Lagos State, who spoke with reporters on Friday, the notice was posted for public inspection at the commission’s Sabo-Yaba offices on Thursday.

It has also been displayed in the commission’s Surulere Local Government Area Office,” she added.

She said that the INEC had started putting the plans and schedule for the elections into motion.

The official further stated that INEC was making great strides to guarantee that all applicable rules and regulations will be strictly followed throughout the election.

She went on to say that the commission will ensure a legitimate byelection in the district.

The Surulere Federal Constituency in Lagos State was one of nine states that were scheduled to hold re-run or by-elections on February 3, 2024, according to HEALTHYSPOT101

Party primary elections, including any subsequent dispute settlement, are scheduled to take place between January 5 and January 9, per the poll schedule.

Beginning on January 18 and concluding on February 1, political parties will launch their public campaigns.

Representative Femi Gbajabiamila resigned from his position as surulere representative after being named chief of staff by President Bola Tinubu following his victory. As a result, the seat fell vacant.
