Peter Obi: The national dishonor of Ukraine’s gift

Following the latest gift made by Ukraine, Mr. Peter obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the previous election, has voiced unhappiness in the government.

In a recent X post, he called the gesture depressing.

The fact that a nation formally engaged in a bloody struggle for its survival against its formidable neighbor, Russia, is so benevolent as to extend food supplies to us, who are formally at peace, says volumes about us as a people endowed with all necessary natural and human resources, the author wrote.

Obi emphasized the need of sound governance and the requirement that the government rearrange the priorities of the country.

It is depressing that our formerly prosperous country, endowed with an enormous amount of fertile land and an abundance of natural resources, now depends on the war-torn Ukraine for food.

Years of poor leadership have resulted in this national embarrassment, which calls for immediate introspection and reorganization of our priorities as well as the distribution and management of our resources.

“We need to radically rearrange our priorities by allocating funds to profitable industries like agriculture. In order to allow farmers to return to their fields, promote small companies, and enable a productive manufacturing sector, it is imperative that insecurity be addressed.

In five years, Obi said, a productive and new Nigeria will result from the government’s implementation of this plan.

He continued, saying, “This act of human solidarity testifies to a rare generosity of spirit which should earn them greater global solidarity.” in appreciation of the Ukraine government’s kind donation.
