The people of Ekiti State have been reassured by the government that the suffering brought on by the rapidly rising cost of food and other necessities will soon come to an end.

In its message of optimism, the administration announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would take all necessary political and economic steps to ease Nigerians’ suffering by launching both long-term and short-term initiatives to strengthen the nation’s economy and restore order to the political system.

The government encouraged the populace to maintain giving personal and environmental hygiene a high priority in order to increase wellness and life expectancy, despite the current economic downturn and the discomfort it causes.

Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, the deputy governor of Ekiti State, provided the promise on Saturday in Ido-Ile Ekiti while overseeing the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the Okemesi/Ido Ile Local Council Development Area and Ekiti West Local Government.

Afuye said that Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his staff are coming up with creative solutions to lessen the impact of the current hyper-inflation on the people of Ekiti in a statement released by her Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje.

She said that the state’s creation of the Price Control and Regulation Committee and its approval of N331 million for local governments to acquire palliative goods were enough to persuade the populace that historic steps were being taken to address the crisis.

“Please allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu some grace. As you are all aware, he recently joined the government. With God’s mercy and your help, these sufferings will soon come to an end.

Your governor in Ekiti State is not taking a break. He is working nonstop to assist President Tinubu in handling the current circumstance. You already know that he adores you and is always willing to provide you joy. All of these situations will be handled, so don’t worry,” she remarked.

At the Palace of Olojudo in Ido Ile, Oba Aderemi Obaleye, Afuye, discussed the government’s strong commitment to environmental sanitation and reiterated that Ekiti will not tolerate any illness outbreaks brought on by citizens’ negligence.

The nation’s economic crisis, according to government advice, shouldn’t stop its residents from keeping their communities clean in order to lower rates of illness and death.

“You have everything when your health is good. We need your help to get our governor to clean up Ekiti. Although things are difficult, they will soon be better.

“You shouldn’t let the present financial crisis stop you from appreciating your life and hygiene. However, I would like to applaud you for what I observe in Ido Ile today. Your environment is clean, and this needs to continue for the sake of all of us, she remarked.

Obaleye praised Oyebanji in his proposal for putting Ekiti on a faster track for an economic and infrastructure makeover.

He pledged that his community will always support the government in its efforts to protect the citizens’ health at all times.

Among the high-ranking government officials in the Deputy Governor’s retinue were Mr. Abayomi Opeyemi, the Permanent Secretary in her office, and Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, the Secretary to the State Government.
