State youth leader and vice chairman leave, causing ZLP setback

Abdulrauf Aseneshi Ladan, the youth leader of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and Mallam Muhammad Egye Onyapa, the vice chairman of Nasarawa state, have both submitted their resignations.

The two departures were verified by formal correspondence dated January 3rd, which was sent to the party chairman in the Obi ward.

Rumor has it that Onyapa also submitted his resignation letter on the same day as Ladan, and both men’s resignations took effect immediately.

This news follows former ZLP MP Musa Salihu Iyimoga’s recent departure, which was another setback for the party.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is Iyimoga’s new political home; he was previously the 6th Assembly member representing the Doma North Constituency.

Since Ladan and Onyapa are both thought to be loyalists of Iyimoga, there are rumors that their resignations could be connected to a bigger trend.

They may stand in sympathy with their former congressman, according to all signs.
