Victor Boniface, a forward for Bayer Leverkusen, revealed that he nearly gave up football at the age of 21 when he hurt himself just two weeks after joining the Norwegian club FK Bodø/Glimt in 2019.

I lived in Norway for around three years. We were league runners-up once and champions twice. On the other hand, I found the footballing aspect to be somewhat disorganised. I felt terrible about it. Boniface joked on Mikel Obi’s podcast, saying, “I think I have more bad stories than good stories there” while speaking via Skype.

However, such is the reality of life. Shortly after signing with Norway, I tore my anterior cruciate ligament. When I was 21 years old, I nearly gave up on football.

He revealed in the interview that he played midfielder before relocating to Europe.

Boniface recently lamented his injury woes following an injury that prevented him from participating in the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

A week before the Nations Cup, the U20 Nations Cup player had an injury, he wrote on his X handle.
