Three alleged scammers are taken into custody in Idumota

Three people, including a woman, were taken into custody by police in Lagos State on suspicion of fraud at the busy Idumota market on Lagos Island.

On Tuesday, the command’s official spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, released a statement confirming the arrest.

According to Hundeyin, the suspects were apprehended by RRS agents when they were holding a hostage who refused to cooperate.

The victim, a 23-year-old woman (name withheld), was abducted from Gerard Road, Ikoyi and driven to Idumota in a Volkswagen Vento salon car with registration number BDG 513 EJ, according to him.

According to the person who made the image, the three criminals tried to con the victim while they were diverted by pretending to introduce her to their money-doubling business.

Fortunately, the victim spotted an RRS patrol unit in the area of Idumota and managed to get the alarm through to them, resulting in the swift capture of the perpetrators.

“The suspects have since been charged to court following the completion of the investigation by the RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi,” he added.
