Tinubu names Aina and Ohiri as the new heads of the NPHCDA and NHIA

Two new agency heads in the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare have been approved by President Bola Tinubu.

On Friday, Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, announced this to the public in a press statement from the White House.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency’s new Executive Secretary/CEO is Dr. Muyi Aina, and the National Health Insurance Authority’s new Director-General/CEO is Kelechi Ohiri, as announced by Ngelale.

With a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard University (USA) and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, “Aina is a worldwide renowned public health leader.

Ohiri’s most recent position was as the Managing Director for Strategy at the Geneva-based organization Global Alliance for Vaccines. Following his initial medical licensure from the University of Lagos, he continued his education at Harvard, where he earned a Master of Public Health and a Master of Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government.
