Former Senator Yusuf passed away early Friday morning at his Kano home following a brief illness. He served from 1999 to 2007.
Alhaji Hussani Dalhatu, a close relative, told reporters of his uncle’s passing.
Following the Jumu’at prayer on Friday, he said, the funeral prayer for the late Sardauna of Dutse would be held in the palace of the Emir of Kano.
In 1947, Yusuf entered the world in Gwaram, Jigawa State. In 1981, he served as Minister of the Interior, and in 1982, he led the Commerce Ministry.
