Aubameyang: My Former Club Said I Wasn’t Good Enough

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a striker for Chelsea, has spoken out about being “hurt” at a past club.

The 33-year-old, who has also represented Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal, joined from Barcelona at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

After having a falling out with manager Mikel Arteta and losing his position as club captain due to conduct problems, Aubameyang left Arsenal and signed for Barcelona as a free agent in January.

On Chelsea’s YouTube page, Aubameyang talked to his brand-new teammate Wesley Fofana and said:

“I’ve experienced a lot of difficult times, not injuries.

“I was fine, but at the start of my career, everyone just mentioned me as a sprinter.

“This stings sometimes because you know where you came from, you know you’ve been through a lot, and you always give it your all, but some people, even in your club, think you’re not good at playing football.”

Additionally, Aubameyang has played for Saint-Etienne, AC Milan, and on loan stints with Monaco, Lille, and Dijon.
