The demise of Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, an Osun-born Nollywood actor, has been deemed startling and tragic by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In a condolence letter sent on Friday, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said that the late thespian was a pleasure to see on TV when he was alive.
Adeleke added that Sisi Quadri’s acting style also made houses erupt in laughter.
According to information obtained by twiscoloaded, the late comedy actor passed away after being taken to the hospital following episodes of hiccups that persisted when he was visiting his hometown of Iwo, Osun State.
Along with expressing sympathy to his personal family—particularly to his ailing father, Alhaji Oyebamiji—he also expressed his condolences to the people of Iwoland and the film industry at large, advising them to find solace in a life of influence, especially for those in the performing arts.
“Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji (aka Sisi Quadri) was a delight to watch in movies,” Adeleke remarked. He was a wonderful talent who filled homes with light and important lessons. Years after his passing, people will be reminded of the amazing moments he brought to life on screen as well as the comedic relief he brought to audiences through his works.
“I grieve his passing, fully aware of the exceptional talent he left behind. My deepest sympathies go out to his immediate family, the Iwolandians, the film industry, and everyone else who was impacted by this tragic event.
“I sincerely hope that they will have the fortitude to endure the trying time that his passage signifies. May the All-Powerful Allah grant his soul, Aljanah Fridao.
