Posted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has given Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi, Ariwoola Aako II, the new Asigangan of Igangan, staff and official instruments.
According to the twiscoloaded, the event was held at the Federal Technical College, Igangan, on Monday in the state’s Ibarapa region.
As Makinde handed the new traditional king the staff and instrument of office, he also gave him instructions to collaborate closely with his government to promote Ibarapa.
The governor stated that this is required to address a number of urgent problems, such as conflicts between farmers and herders and illicit mining.
Makinde encouraged the king to bring Igangan together by demonstrating the discernment and humility that a leader is required to possess. Makinde was represented by his deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal.
He mentioned that the ruling house had properly nominated him, that he had passed screening, and that the administration had accepted him on recommendation.
Speaking further, Makinde insisted that the staff and instrument of office presentations were in keeping with the authority bestowed upon him as the state’s governor.
“I express my gratitude to the people of Igangan and urge Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi, Ariwoola Aako II, to collaborate closely with the government in addressing urgent problems like illicit mining, land grabs, and kidnapping, which jeopardize the stability and advancement of the local government as a whole.
The traditional institution and government authorities must work together closely to address these issues and protect the security and welfare of our people.
In light of this, the Governor is using the authority granted to him under subsections (1) and (2) of section 20 of the Chiefs. I offer the staff of office, or instrument of authority, to His Royal Majesty, Oba Rafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi, the new Asigangan of Igaganland, in accordance with Law chapter 28 vol. 1 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
