Raiders storm Kaduna Mosque, murdering the Chief Imam and several others

The Ga Allah Babba mosque in the hamlet of Sabon Layi in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State was assaulted by gunmen alleged to be bandits terrorizing the area.

According to information acquired by TWISCOLOADED, the attack took place in the early hours of Tuesday and resulted in the deaths of the mosque’s leading imam and two other worshippers.

At least two additional worshippers were injured in the attack, according to reports.

The leader of the Muslim community, Zubair Abdurrauf, verified the news to Channels TV, saying that it occurred during morning prayers.

A mosque’s Imam and another two worshippers were gunned down. It took place early Tuesday morning, approximately 5 a.m. At the Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital in Birnin-Gwari, two more worshippers with critical injuries are being treated.

Nearly every day, bandits strike Birnin-Gwari areas, preying on farmers in particular. Travelers and other users of the Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna roadway are increasingly concerned about the situation.

Like what was done in Borno State, where the civilian Joint Task Force worked closely with the security agencies to fight the Boko Haram terrorists, I am calling on the governors in the North-West zone to come together and immediately set up a security task force that will include the military, police, and local vigilante groups. If we don’t take care of the bandit problem in the northwestern region, we’re doomed.

As of the time this story was written, attempts to contact the Kaduna State Police Command had been unsuccessful.
