Posted by Simone Inzaghi, manager of Inter Milan, believes his team’s striker, Lautaro Martinez, is more deserving than Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland won this year’s Ballon d’Or than any of them.
Martinez is one of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or in 2023.
The 26-year-old, however, is not considered a top contender.
Martinez had a great 2022–2023 season for both his club and national team.
He played in 57 games for Inter Milan, scoring 28 goals and dishing out 11 assists as the club won the Coppa Italia and advanced to the final of the UEFA Champions League.
But it appears like his Argentine compatriot Messi will win the Ballon d’Or for an unprecedented eighth time in 2023.
But Inzaghi maintained that the attacker deserves to be on the podium next week because of Martinez’s efforts last year.
Inzaghi claimed (via TNT Sports) that Martinez is deserving of the Ballon d’Or because of his accomplishments.
He must show up that night; I doubt he will prevail, but he must keep going like this.
