Posted by Juan Mata, a former midfielder for Manchester United, recently complimented Kobbie Mainoo on his excellent play this season.
Mata discussed his former club, where he played for eight years from 2014 to 2022, in a recent interview with AS.
The Spaniard called Rasmus Hojlund a confident and strong forward, and praised Alejandro Garnacho for his maturity and mindset.
Regarding Mainoo, Mata said he appeared to be a solid player and a pleasant surprise for the team.
“He is a very positive surprise; I didn’t know Mainoo when he was in the youth team,” stated Mata.
“He looks like a really skilled player.”
This season, Mainoo has made 17 appearances for Erik Ten Hag’s team, contributing one assist and one goal.
