Posted by The Bauchi Police Command has detained two men on suspicion of killing Ibrahim Ahmadu, a 25-year-old man who fought off an attempt to abduct his wife.
The terrible event occurred on October 10, 2023, in Bazai village, Shira Local Government Area, Bauchi State.
After attending a Maulud procession in Bazai village, suspects Auwalu Idk and Habibu Buba, both 20, ran into Ahmadu and his wife, Amina Sani, by the road.
SP Mohammed Wakil, the Police Command’s spokesman, said that the suspects resorted to violence when Ahmadu rejected their attempt to take his wife from him by striking him on the forehead with sticks.
According to Wakil, a doctor at General Hospital Yana pronounced Ahmadu dead due to internal injuries he got during the beating.
He revealed that a tip was sent to the Shira Police Division about the crime.
“As soon as they got the report, investigators lead by DPO Yana sprung into action. They arrived on the spot quickly and took the victim to General Hospital Yana. Later, a doctor confirmed his death, and authorities were able to apprehend the suspects.
The accused made full admissions of guilt during interrogation. We will file formal charges against the suspect once our investigation is complete,” the statement continues.
