In Osun State, the Nigeria Labour Congress and organized civic society have launched a protest.
Twiscoloaded reported on Tuesday that the demonstration got underway at Osogbo’s Freedom Park.
The current state of Nigeria’s economy was the reason for calling for the demonstration.
Twiscoloaded also mentioned that the National Labor Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) had given the Federal Government a notice of a 14-day nationwide strike on February 8 for failing to carry out the agreements made on October 2, which followed the elimination of the fuel subsidy.
The protest resulted from the Federal Government’s inability to keep its word following the ultimatum.
In Osun State, organized labor started organizing its members on Monday in preparation for the countrywide demonstrations against the high cost of living.
