Tinubu reverses course and demands that Kashim, only 24 years old, be removed as FERMA chairman

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu unexpectedly rescinded Engr Imam Kashim Imam’s candidacy.

Imam was formerly appointed to lead the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) as its chairman.

The President’s Media Aide, Ajuri Ngelale, released a statement saying that Imam was being removed from his position immediately.

Ajuri clarified that this order does not affect any other FERMA board or executive management team nominations.

You may recall that the Federal Government faced criticism after putting Imam, who is rumored to be only 24 years old, to the FERMA board.

The president’s order to withdraw the nomination was not accompanied by any explanation.
